Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YPA Microphones INC ("YPA," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with YPA applications, desktop software, and the YPA Microphones website.
Scope
This Policy covers:
- YPA Control, a companion application for compatible YPA audio hardware;
- YPA WMS, a warehouse management application;
- YPA Session, a planned audio application that has not yet been publicly released; and
- ypamicrophones.com, including its online store and support pages.
Platform availability varies by product. The applicable product section below applies wherever that product is offered on iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS, Windows, or the web. A product-specific section takes priority if it differs from a general section of this Policy.
YPA Control
YPA Control configures, monitors, and updates compatible YPA audio hardware. It does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, cross-app tracking, or third-party tracking SDKs.
Information YPA Control Does Not Collect
YPA Control does not collect names, email addresses, contact information, precise location, photos, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. It does not record or upload audio. Audio from connected YPA hardware is not transmitted to YPA through the application.
Information Stored Locally
YPA Control may store app settings, presets, device presentation preferences, and firmware-update recovery information locally on the user's device. This information is used only to provide the application's features and is not sent to YPA. It can be removed by deleting the application and its local data.
Hardware Connections and Audio Permissions
YPA Control communicates directly with compatible YPA hardware over Bluetooth Low Energy on supported Apple mobile devices and over USB on supported Android, macOS, and Windows devices. Bluetooth and USB identifiers used to establish a local connection are not sent to YPA.
On Android and macOS, YPA Control may request microphone or audio-input access to display real-time input meters from a connected YPA USB audio device. Audio samples are processed temporarily on the device for meter display. They are not recorded, stored, or transmitted by YPA Control. On iOS and iPadOS, Bluetooth permission is used to discover and control compatible YPA hardware; audio is not transported over Bluetooth by YPA Control.
Firmware Updates
YPA Control may contact update.ypamicrophones.com over HTTPS to check for and download a compatible signed firmware update. A firmware check requests a product-specific manifest and does not include an account, device serial number, or full hardware identifier. Firmware files are downloaded only when needed for an update or recovery.
As with any Internet request, the hosting provider may process basic network information, such as an IP address and request metadata, as necessary to deliver files, prevent abuse, and protect the service. YPA Control does not use this information for advertising, tracking, or profiling.
YPA WMS
YPA WMS provides warehouse management functions for authorized business users. Unlike YPA Control, YPA WMS uses accounts and backend services.
Information YPA WMS Collects
YPA WMS may collect:
- Account information, such as the email address used for login and authentication;
- Operational data, including inventory records, SKU data, warehouse transactions, and related business information entered by users; and
- Device and usage data, such as device type, operating system, and basic usage information used to maintain performance and reliability.
How YPA WMS Uses Information
YPA WMS uses this information to provide warehouse management functions, authenticate users, manage accounts, process and store operational data, maintain and improve service reliability, and comply with applicable law.
YPA does not sell YPA WMS personal data. Data may be processed by service providers, including backend infrastructure providers such as Supabase, when necessary to operate the service; to comply with legal obligations or valid governmental requests; or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of YPA and its users.
YPA Session
YPA Session is planned but is not currently available as a public application. Its final features, supported platforms, permissions, and data practices have not yet been frozen. Before YPA Session is released, we will update this section and the applicable app-store privacy disclosures to describe its actual behavior. The YPA Control and YPA WMS disclosures above must not be used to infer YPA Session's future data practices.
YPA Microphones Website
When users visit ypamicrophones.com, contact YPA, create a website account, place an order, request support, or use an interactive website feature, the website may process information the user provides, such as contact, account, order, payment-related, shipping, support, and communication information. The website and its commerce providers may also process device, browser, cookie, network, and interaction information needed to operate, secure, and improve the site, remember preferences, complete transactions, and comply with law.
If a user chooses to use the website's AI assistant or live-chat features, the site may process the user's messages, a session identifier, conversation history, feedback, and any contact information the user chooses to provide in order to answer questions and provide support. Users should not submit sensitive personal information through these features unless it is necessary for the support request.
The website is hosted using Shopify. Website and commerce data may be processed by Shopify and by other providers needed for payments, fulfillment, security, AI-assisted responses, support, and site operation. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices where applicable.
Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections where applicable. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant product or service, meet operational and contractual needs, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Locally stored YPA Control data remains under the user's control as described above.
User Rights and Choices
Depending on location, users may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Requests may be sent to the contact address below. We may need to verify a request before responding. Users may also manage operating-system permissions in device settings and manage website cookies through available browser or website controls.
Children's Privacy
YPA applications and services are not directed to children, and YPA does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our products, services, or legal requirements. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page. Product-specific app-store disclosures will also be updated when required.
